    Clean/replace the air filter. Fresh gas. Spark plug.

    small engines have a carburetor. It probably sticks and lets too much air in with the gas. Check the manual choke. Four months means it is still under warrantee so take it back and get them to check it. Find out exactly what the problem is for future reference.
    I sure hope it isn't a craftsman. They may reccommend replacing the engine. DON"T LETUM

    Will it run if you remove the air filter? If so then you can simply clean the filter. Often dust gets lodged in it and hinders air flow to the engine.
