It won't hurt to try it, but if it vibrates more than it did before, it's probably too far gone. Otherwise, just spend the ten bucks on a new one. I hammered my blade flat many times--no problem. A lot of vibration would indicate that it is not flat so hammer it again. I also sharpened the blade with a rough file and had no problems.
