Can you use a mulching blade on a regular push mower, will it work?

The mower is a rear bagging mower with a spring loaded door in the back that stays closed when the bad is not attached.

It will work, as long as the chute is removable and there is a way to block it off. My mower can be used as a mulcher, with side discharge, or with a rear bagger, depending on how I want to use it. The cover for the chute and the cover for the bagger are spring loaded, so if they are not in place the mower automaticall becomes a mulcher. Hope this helps.

Yes but not as well. Regular push moweres are designed to expel the cuttings whereas a mulching mower retains the cuttings to get chopped up.

Yes it doesnt work as well though. Might be time to trade it in ! FYI Grass clippings can be added to compost. They heat up wonderfully and accelerate decomposition.

NO! push mower bodies are not deep enough for these blades,, you will end up ruining your mower!!!!!!!

My mower is a mulcher when I close the chute. I don't run it like that though because it makes the mower work twice as hard. I can feel it struggle a bit. I'm worried I may kill the motor somewhat prematurely.

As long as the blades clear the mower deck and the door stays closed, you may have to raise the cutting height a notch to get good chopping action.
