My lawnmower runs off of gasoline and oil, seperate. My problem is that I can not tell the difference between oil and gasoline, and have no idea which is which...

Mainly what is the difference in smell, or looks, and if I screwed up, could it damage my lawnmower?

Thanks!

It is to the point now where with a full tank it stalls constantly until the gas gets lower and lower. It slowly gets a little better as the gas goes away. It runs somewhat normally for about 3 minutes and then runs extremely faster than normal and shuts off. Any ideas?

My lawnmower was leaking some gas around the carb. The bowl was damp. I took it apart and check to see if the float was stuck. It was all totally clean and free. I put it back together again. I believe the leak was from a hose instead of the carb. When I started the mower up afterwards, it started blowing thick smoke and running rough. It ran fine and didnt smoke at all before I took the carb off. Any ideas?
