Gas for a lawnmower, please help?!?

I know this will sound really stupid, but give me a break...I just became a single mom. I haven't done a lot of things before....

My lawnmower just ran out of gas. I don't even know what kind of gas you put in a lawnmower nor where to get it. Can anyone help me, please? Thanks.
