How can i make my lawn mower more powerful and fast?

I have a Poulin 4.5 hp lawn mower and i'm trying to supe it up. any suggestions? what can i do to make it faster that's cheep?

    Well you bore it 0.30 over take cams and grind the bottom side down, This with give a better lift but be sure to do a clay impression to make sure you have clearence where the valve don’t hit head, then measure the clearence and shave the head to a clearence of no less than 0.002 clearence for the valves. Its also a good ideal to have valve to head clearence before starting this project,get a manual that breaks this all down to you. Then you are ready to port both intake and exhaust. Use a chambered exhaust pipe, might want to try carbs like mukuni off a snow mobile. As for speed like we use in lawn mower racing swap pulleys from front to rear,Bigger pulley in front (motor) and smaller in rear…….I’ve been clocked at 92 mph. we round track race them. Its fun but modify for safty, and where a helmet. Good luck

    why do you need a more powerful lawn mower? all it’s doing is cutting grass…

    Never heard of any superchargers, turbos etc for mowers.

    WHY? what are you going to do, RACE it????

    Maybe they don’t sell turbo’s/super chargers for lawn mowers. But I’m sure you can build one yourself!

    Actually, I think the better way to make your lawn mower more powerful and faster is by working out. Once YOU are stronger and faster, so will the lawn mower.
