How do I drain the oil in my 6.5 HP Craftsman mower?
I have turned the mower over as I have with my other mowers but I don't find a place to drain the oil from. I haven't removed the mower blade guard but I figured they wouldn't try to hide the oil drain. I have, of course, checked on the deck on the top and still can't find the drain. Help!

Modern Craftsman Lawn Mowers, equipped with both Briggs or Honda engines, no longer have a drain plug on the underside of the deck. To drain the oil just take the cap off the oil fill and tip it on its side. Then fill it back up with about 18 oz of 4 cycle SAE 30 wt oil. ( A 6.5 hp mower has a 20oz capacity, but just in case there is residual oil leftover, you do not want to flood the engine. )
Turn the mower on its side and drain the oil out of the oil fill tube.
Most mowers have a allen plug on bottom under where the blade is. Look closer.
Scrape the grass off of the bottom of the mower, you'll find the plug.
