I’m not sure what you mean by front thrower style.
    is it a reel mower?
If its a reel mower Take it to your local golf course and talk to the mechanic there he can show you how to sharpen it. Properly sharpening and adjusting a reel mower is tricky and takes a lot of practice and if you are not careful you could easily loose a finger.

Take them to a place that sharpens skates: they can sharpen your blades nicely!! Or, you can use a file and do it yourself – this takes a while but works well.

Old school was to take it off and grind it on the grinder in the garage but now its easier to leave it on and use a hand held grinder

The blade must be balanced, or it could shake itself apart. Take the same amount of stokes on each side. Then, when it is sharp, it must be balanced. Place it on a balance point, such as a screwdriver clamped in a vice. If the blade stays flat it is balanced, but if it drops to one side, you must take a few strokes with the file off of the low end. Repeat this until it is level.
