I am looking for a manual for my riding mower, What is the difference between….?
Shop Manual, and Technical Manual ? I was told to look for a "shop manual". I found "shop manual" on line everywhere, but not from my riding mower official manufacture home page. Instead, I found "Technical Manual" from the home page and the price was much less. Now I am confused what is it that I need to buy...?

Are you looking for information on your mowers operating instructions, or how to work on the mechanical parts of the mower? Usually the "instruction" manuel that comes with the mower tells the basic operating principles as well as normal servicing of the mower. This is what you need to find. However, the "technical" manuel will be a little more detailed than the "shop" manuel as the shop manuel is more for the repairing of the mower. I would try to find an instruction manuel or operators manuel before anything else. You can always call John Deere at their 1-800 number. Hope this answers your question…. good luck!
*Added info: You may wish to look for the "operators" manuel for your particular model of mower.

Equipment comes with 2 documents, a service manual and a parts manual.
Service Manual: is a book that includes all the operating features of your equipment. Including maintenance/service intervals, lubrication points, oil type, etc.
Parts Manual: is a book that includes all the parts on the equipment, including a ‘schematic’ of how they fit together. They also give you reference #’s that correspond to specific part #’s (used for ordering).
Both of these Manuals should be available on the manufacturers website. There exists alot of non-manufacturer parts distributors on the web that do have these parts and manuals. Oftentimes, they include a phone # so that you can order either manual if you choose to not simply download it for free.
Just google the manufacturer and include the model #.
