I have yardman Self propelled lawn mower. One minute it was running fine. Then it started to slow down & quit

Mower was runing fine then the engine started slowing down. thought maybe I was low on gas. Not the problem. Then mower just stopped all together.

    how is the oil level? is your plug wire tight? is the deck choking with wet grass?

    Spark plug wire fall off? They’re not attached very well. Not that then the air filter is REALLY dirty. Clean it out with gas.

    From the sound of it you might want to check the Carburetor and clean or replace the Air filter. Maybe all you need is a tune up.

    how is the oil. If you are low or out of oil the motor probably stared to seize up. Otherwise it could be a fuel filer or air filter problem.

    The gas cap may be too thigh, not permitting gas to flow into the engine.

    The gas cap may be on too tight? That is the funniest answer I have seen yet. It is a joke, right?
    It is likely something binding in the self propelling mechanism. Give it a good cleaning and check that the mechanism moves freely. You should probably clean the bottom of the mower too while your at it.
