The MTD will last 6 years easy if you take care of it, do not leave it outside in the rain. I had one for 3 years, when I moved I sold it for nearly what I paid for it. It looked great, worked great, cut great, the bags held up and it was still shiny. Here is one for $200 bid on e-bay right now. Check out the Ariens 54 In. Deck 25 HP Kohler Engine Hydrostatic Yard Tractor at the second and third sites. Apparently time has passed and Home Depot sells the Ariens not MTD. These will do the job. Just take care of it.
