Sounds like the thing is starving for gas which could mean the gas lines are plugged with old gas. A service tech told me that the gas we use now starts breaking down as quickly as two weeks after buying it. I had a chainsaw that did the same thing because I didn't add gas additive or run the thing dry before storing it. Cost me plenty in the spring.
