Lawnmower: Gas in the Gas/oil tank?

I believe that our lawn mower requires a gas/oil mixture. (Although there are two separate places to put fluid, one with a gas picture and one with an oil picture). Anyways, I just put gas instead of a mixture. I just put a little bit then ran it for 5-10 minutes. It died, so I figured it was out of gas, so I put more. Now it wont start. Did I ruin it by just putting in regular gas?
