Lawnmower problems_gas and oil squirting out?

I finally got my mower going. New battery, changed oil, plug and primed the carb. When it started smoke shot out, tapered off after while, then started spitting out gas and oil. Its hard to see but i don't think I have it to full. Can't find the book, how much does a typical riding lawn mower take. Troy-Built.
