Need help in lawn mower maintenance.?

I tipped my lawn mower to the front to check underneath. Now it is spitting out smoke and the engine will sputter then shut off. I know I need to replace the spark plug and air filter but is there anything else I need to do?

    You just got oil into the combustion chamber and it will take some running to dissipate this. I wouldn’t think you would have to replace anything. You might want to remove the plug and clean off any excessive oil on it and crank the engine a few times with the plug removed to help clean things out. If the air filter got oil on it you would probably have to replace it.

    dont need to do anything,, just leave it for a few hours to dry out

    Just remember to tilt the mower towards the oil sump next time.We’ve all done it.
