What is the best riding lawn mower for large yards?

Easy to use for 'mature' woman
Where online can I find information and reviews? What is a 4-stroke?
I could only find Dixie Chopper as a motor bike, was the answer a cute joke or is there a site where I can find Dixie Chopper to mow grass?

Murray is not sold under the mtd name… mtd owns mtd, and makes mtd…. murray is practically out of buisness and owned by briggs and stratton (great engine maker) sears mowers are not made by mtd, they are made by ayp (american yard products) they are owned by electrolux and make husqvarna.

A 4 stroke has of course, 4 strokes. The connecting rod and piston makes 4 strokes in the engine… intake, compression, power and exhaust… 2 cycles are not found on riding mowers, because 4 cycle engines are more powerful.

There’s snapper, simplicity, dixon, grasshopper, husqvarna and sears to consider…. also exmark.
    All great brands….

Would like to add, mtd is the cheap throw away brand, like murray, and don’t last long with hard use. http://www.mtdproducts.com for all the mtd brands.

A four stroke is like a car engine, two stroke, uses oil and gas mixed as fuel-

All sorts of mowers out there- 2 Acres, go with a Sears or Lowes for about $1000.00 16 -17 hp- 42 inch deck, big ranch yard, 46 in deck, or bigger- Mowers can cost anywhere from $899 to $5000 – Lots of brands and places to choose from.

I have a 1994 MTD I paid $300 for it, 8 years ago used, still runs and works, doing a resharpen on the blades today. I mow about 2 Acres here at home and another lot of 3/4 acre.

MTD- Murray is sold under many names, Sears, Yardman, etc, its pretty good- but not the best- but easy to find parts and info- I belong to a MTD Yahoo group, with lots of help.
