Which engine is better?

I'm looking at buying a Toro lawn mower. There are many models that are so slightly different, the only difference I can find is the engine manufacturer. Model 20064 has Briggs & Stratton engine and the 20071 has a Tecumseh engine. B&S is a very common name and I assume maintenance and parts will be easy in the long run. Any suggestions?

I have sold lawn mowers for almost two years now and prefer the Briggs engine. It is virtually bullet proof, and it widely used across the many different manufacturers of lawnmowers. At the hardware store where I work, 80% of the mowers and tractors we sell and have sold are B&S, and the rest are Honda. The store actually phased out the mowers with the Tecumseh engines. I have never had any problem with a Tecumseh engine, but have found that a Briggs will be much more durable and more dependable as long as it is cared for properly.

they both make good motors, more people work on b&s engines but most small engine repair shops work on all makes of engines
